Our new family member

Meet the newest member of a family - Max

We adopted him from a rescue shelter. They found him and his brothers and sisters in a box at an elementary school in the sewer drain. They found him right before the big snow storm.

He is extremely smooth and feeling like a teddy bear. He sleeps most of the day now.

When I got home from work, it is how I found him. Asleep on the couch with his head on a pillow.

Snow - 5 Day

Can you believe we still have this much snow after 5 day??? The kids missed a whole week of school.

Braces

Hunter got his braces on today. The treatment should last 2 to 2 1/2 years. Then he will have perfect straight teeth with no overbite.

Hunter was ready to get braces. He says the sooner he gets them on, the sooner they will come off.

Snow - 2 Day

Happy 1-11-11 Everyone!

The snow and ice is still here very little has melted. Our driveway is a sheet of ice so we stayed at home today.

Here were huge icicles everywhere. We felt like if this one from off the roof fell and hit someone, it must kill or wound them.

The ducks were swimming in the lake this afternoon. I bet they are cold.

We also had 4 deer running across our yard today. You could hear the ice break under their feet.

6 inches of snow!

Early Monday morning it started snowing and it didn't stop until we had 6 inches of snow. Everything was covered deep in snow.

As the day progress the snow developed a layer of ice over the top. So when you stepped on the snow the ice would slowly break and you would sink into powdery snow.

The boys and I had fun playing in the snow. The snow was so deep that the snow would completely cover your ankle and up your leg a few inches.

Our backyard from the dock

Hunter had to go on the dock. So Jordan joined him. I'm so glad no one fell in because I wasn't looking forward to saving anyone.

How often do you see snow on palm trees? Look how heigh the snow is on the railing.

SNOW!

Christmas night it started to snow. We woke up Christmas Sunday to this.

Our backyard

The kids enjoyed the snow. Huge snowflakes fell. It melted on the road fast so that was wonderful. Little patches of snow stayed on the ground for over 3 days. So according to the old wise tale, we will get some more snow this year.

Christmas

Christmas afternoon we went to Thom and Jane's house. Cole and his family came down for Christmas. It was nice seeing them and the kids had a great time playing together.

Jordan and I are stuffed after eating Christmas dinner.

Santa

We baked homemade sugar cookies for Santa. But when we picked up the plate to decorate them, it was dropped. So Santa got Nutter Butters this year.

Cookies and Milk for Santa

We must have been good this year. Santa brought everyone lots of goodies.
