Jordan getting ready to search for a letterbox
Jordan and I had the best time letterboxing yesterday. Chris and Hunter did not want to go so we went without them.
Another letterboxer, Talley Valley Farm Clan, had emailed me about a box planted in Columbia. This box travels around from place to place. It is an invitation only box. Once you find it, you must replant it within 2 weeks and email the new clues to the owner. The gypsy started her travels in 2004. So for 4 years, she has been traveling around.
Jordan and I started looking for The Gypsy before the Talley Valley Farm Clan arrived. Just when we were going to take a break from looking, then The Talley Valley Farm Clan and her sister and nephew arrived. We all looked some more. Finally The Gypsy was found! They had been searching for The Gypsy for months at Table Rock State Park which was her last known location. The Gypsy had 2 beautifully carved stamps and a logbook full of finders.
After that, we looked for some more boxes together hidden in the same park. Jordan had a great time playing with their son. Holly and I enjoyed looking in each others logbooks. We have meet some of the nicest people letterboxing. I guess if you are willing to walk through the woods in search of rudder stamps you can't be too mean maybe crazy but not mean. :)

Next Jordan and I looked for a new series of letterboxes called "Are You Superstitious?" Most of the letterboxes were planted in cemeteries. As we were looking in one cemetery, Jordan said Mom remember what they said on the ghost walk. (We went to one of those Ghost Walks in Charleston) If you trip when you are walking on someone's grave, it means they are graping your legs. (The things Jordan remembers!)
For one letterbox, we had to go into a shop and tell the owner that it looks like rain, do you have an umbrella I may borrow? Yesterday it rained on and off all day. So the question was not out of the ordinary. We stamped the letterbox and had some of their delicious ice coffee.
