John Coleman's party

Jordan went to an amazing Star Wars birthday party today. Since it was a Star Wars themed party, it was right up Jordan's alley.

There were over 12 stations set up to play Star Wars related game. Tons of cool cardboard movie stand ups everywhere. It was a costume party. So everyone was dressed up. Almost all the little girls had Princess Leia buns. Unfortunately, Jordan's Jedi cape is MIA so he had to wear his Batman cape. During the games, they played the soundtrack from the movie.

After the games, there was Jedi Training with Obi-Wan Kenobi. The kids were given foam lightsabors and practiced their techniques. Then there was a disturbance in the force and Darth Vader appeared.

Vader tried to turn the young jedi to the dark side.

Next there was a light sabor fight with the young jedi, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader and Darth Maul.

Darth Vader tried to recruit the young Jedi to dark side. Luckily he failed and all the jedi received certificates signed by Obi-Wan Kenobi.

A funny side note is that John Coleman's uncle was Chris' roommate at Clemson. So after the party, the boys wanted to know who dressed up as Darth Vader. We told them Dad's old roommate, Bill. With huge eyes, they both said "Dad roomed with Darth Vader!" It was so funny. Bill must really love John Coleman to dress up as Darth Vader in the heat of the summer and let over 20 kids hit him with foam sticks!

All the food was themed. There was Yoda's swamp juice (which had dry ice so it smoked), light sabor sticks, (pretzels covered in icing), moon pies, Star Wars pez dispensers, etc. All the food was labeled with its themed name. My favorite was the M&Ms. Each M&M had John Coleman's face on one side and Happy Birthday on the other. Jordan said they were delicious.

Her hair buns of course, not the other ones.

There was a death star pinata. Doesn't it look cool. Inside the pinata was another pinata of Darth Vader and of course lots and lots of candy.

It started to rain. During the rain, we had cake and watched some of a Star Wars movie. Then the sun was out and everyone swam in the lake. Jordan and Hunter loved the party. They both said it is one of the best parties they ever attended.

Happy Birthday, John Coleman!
