Kate and Ashley's wedding

This Saturday, I officiated Kate and Ashley's wedding. In South Carolina, a notary public is authorized to perform a marriage ceremony. The only other states in the US that a notary can perform a marriage ceremony are Maine and Florida. I work with both Kate and Ashley. They work at different stores but I work at both their stores. I was very honored that they asked me to marry them and very nervous. (As with any picture on the blog, you can click on it to make it larger.)

I'm waiting with Ashely, the groom, and
Hunter, his best man and brother,
for the bride to come

They were married at Landsford Canal State Park which is in Catawba, SC near Rock Hill. The park is beautiful. I would like to come back one day just to enjoy the park.

Kate and Ashley were married on an old footbridge. It made a semicircle and was a neat place to have a wedding. I was standing on the footbridge which was about 4 feet above the path so I was very glad I did not fall off. They used unity sand instead of a unity candles which I think turned out great especially for an outdoor wedding.

After the wedding, they had a reception at this old log cabin at the park. The log cabin was built in the 1700s and we all enjoyed the air condition.

After the reception, everyone was invited to a cookout. The food was wonderful. We had so much fun talking with everyone.

They are going to North Carolina for their honeymoon.
Congratulations Kate and Ashley!!
