Cherokee, NC

We went up to Cherokee to get a break for the summer heat.  We had a great time learning Indian history.
We toured the Oconaluftee Indian Village.  They had several Indian structures reflecting different periods of time.

Cherokee indians are divided into 7 clans.  They are the deer, blue, bird, long hair, wolf, wild potato and paint.  You couldn't marry any one from your clan.  When you married, you joined the women's clan.

We learned several Cherokee dances

We ate at this indian restaurant.
I got some delicious indian tacos.
See how the tree is growing through the buildind.
Here was even a stream the flowed under the porch.

We saw the outdoor drama "Unto these hills"
