Our last stop was Savannah. We toured the Roundhouse railroad Museum. The boys loved seeing all the steam and diesel engines. It reminded me of the days that they loved Thomas the Tank Engine.
The huge model train display was Jordan's favorite part. He loved it and went back to visit it at least four times.
It was very windy in Savannah and being at the Riverfront did not help matters. We are in front of The Waving Girl statue.
The statue immortalizes a Savannahian named Florence Martus, who lived near the entrance to Savannah Harbor and supposedly waved to each ship that came and went -- for 44 years! Did she not have anything else to do??? I guess she did not have kids or she would have been chasing them around.
Enormous ships traveled down the Savannah River while we were there. We saw a huge tank liner and cargo ship. It was pretty neat.
