The boys had Spring Break last week. Chris and I were lucky enough to get off work so we headed south in search of some warm weather. Our first stop was St. Augustine.
We toured the Fountain of Youth. We all drank from it. Maybe it is not too late for me.
We toured the Old Jail which was built in 1891. They showed us the cells and the tree where the prisoners were hung. They locked all the women up in a cell. This may have been Chris' favorite part.
There is Hunter holding the ball and chain they used on prisoners. Today, they are only used on married men. :)
We visited San Sebastian Winery. We took a tour which demonstrated how they made wine and ended with a wine tasting. Chris and I enjoyed this tour much more than Hunter and Jordan.
We toured the Castillo De San Marcos. This fort's construction started in 1672. It is the oldest masonry fort and only existant 17th century fort in North America. It seemed like everything in St. Augustine was the oldest in America... the oldest house, the oldest drug store, the oldest tree, etc. This makes sense because it is the oldest city in America.
